Information about enrolling in or changing to a master's program
After you received the letter of acceptance for a master's program you have to enroll at Universität Hamburg. You will find all necessary information on the documents required for enrollment in our enrollment checklists below. Please check your documents carefully using these checklists.
Important notice: Enrollment at Universität Hamburg will take place digitally in the winter semester 2022/23. Documents that are sent in paper form by regular mail will not be considered!
Students who do not yet have their bachelor's certificate can still apply for a master's program at Universität Hamburg. Formal admission can only be granted, however, when the certificate is submitted by the end of the first semester of the master's program (31 March for admission to a winter semester, 30 Sept. for admission to a summer semester). As long as the certificate remains outstanding, students are only provisionally enrolled.
