There are 2 options: Donations or endowments.

Donations

You have the opportunity to support the University through donations in the areas of research and teaching. For example, you can sponsor a specific research project or field to support its research.

Your advantages:

• you are investing in new, forward-looking projects that offer solutions to existing problems
• donations are tax deductible and you will receive receipt for your records

Endowments

An endowment can make a big difference! If you would like to establish an endowment for the benefit of the University, we will be happy to advise you. You can also strengthen an existing endowment by donating capital that will benefit research in the long term.

Play an active role in shaping research by establishing an endowed professorship at the University of Hamburg, allowing you to promote specific research and provide innovative ideas.

The Support of Doctoral and Early Career Researchers Section in the Department of Research Management and Funding is responsible for the fiduciary administration of the University of Hamburg’s corporate assets (donations and nonlegal endowments, allowances and gifts).

Here, you can obtain information about the fiduciary administration of earmarked donations and nonreciprocal contributions to the University of Hamburg, in particular about individual donations, gifts, allowances, and inheritances, as well as trust foundations.
