Knowledge exchange to and from the University
Creating knowledge in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region
Knowledge exchange at Universität Hamburg is inspired by our guiding principle: Innovating and Cooperating for a Sustainable Future. Researchers and students collaborate with people active in civil society, the business and political sectors, and art and culture. They research, teach, learn, and innovate together. In this way, they tap into Hamburg’s potential for innovation.
The Knowledge Exchange Agency is Universität Hamburg’s main service provider for advice on knowledge exchange activities, lending its support in this multifaceted field to members of the University and outsiders alike. It also coordinates the University’s Knowledge Exchange Fund, which is financed as part of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the City of Hamburg.
At Universität Hamburg, we take the “change” in “knowledge exchange” seriously!

Knowledge exchange activities at Universität Hamburg, with its 27 departments ranging from African languages to zoology, are dynamic and multifaceted. University members are studying important hot-button topics in the following knowledge exchange areas: innovation and entrepreneurship, co-creative research, social commitment, and education and qualifications.
The Knowledge Exchange Agency highlights university-wide knowledge exchange projects and informs you about funding possibilities. See the respective websites of the individual faculties, clusters, or institutions for an overview of knowledge exchange activities.
