About us
Universities must not only address the question of the relevance of research and its contribution to solving complex societal challenges, but also respond to the call for democratisation and gaining trust in science. They themselves are perceived as responsible co-creators of our societies, environments and futures and are held accountable. It is in this area of tension that the Knowledge Exchange Agency’s team Co-Creation & Engagement comes into play:
Co-Creation & Engagement brings together people and organisations from academia, civil society, politics, culture, public administration, and the private sector to strengthen mutual exchange, co-creative knowledge generation and participatory technology design. At the interface of University of Hamburg with its metropolitan region and society at large, we design networks and formats that enable co-creative research on complex societal challenges, and we promote civic engagement within and through research and teaching.
For us, knowledge transfer is always multidirectional and characterized by mutually beneficial collaboration, but also always situated and context-specific. Therefore, we provide expertise in both content and methodology, we connect and support communities of practice, and create occasions, spaces, and moments for knowledge exchange and matchmaking to happen.
