Working with international researchers, students, and doctoral candidates can be enriching, but also challenging. Differences in culture, unconscious biases, and ignorance of historical developments and different ways of life can make collaboration difficult. This two-part workshop series aims to empower participants to reflect on their work through a diversity-sensitive lense and to develop practical strategies for effective intercultural engagement. During the sessions, we will analyze current practices, identify common intercultural challenges, and collaboratively develop specific action steps to address them. The workshop provide a training envioronment to enhance intercultural communication and promote diversity sensitivity within university settings.
Part I: Understanding Diversity: Fundamentals of Diversity-Sensitive Communication in the University Context
Part II: Shaping Diversity: Diversity-Sensitive Strategies and Options for Action in Everyday University Administrative Work
The workshop is funded by MIN För Hamburg with funds from DAAD.
