Refugees who would like to study at a Hamburg university and have at least a B1 German level can register.

The course takes place once a week on site at Universität Hamburg. It is not possible to participate digitally.

Das Studienorientierungsprogramm #UHHhilft verfolgt das Ziel „Integration durch Bildung“ und unterstützt alle Teilnehmenden auf ihrem Weg ins Studium. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die wöchentliche Fachklasse, die es von April bis September (Sommersemester) sowie von Oktober bis März (Wintersemester) gibt. Die Fachklasse findet semesterbegleitend einmal pro Woche an der Universität Hamburg vor Ort statt. In dieser Klasse treffen sich die Teilnehmenden regelmäßig und erhalten wichtige Informationen zu allen Themen die das Studium betreffen. Die Fachklassen werden von unseren studentischen Tutorinnen gehalten. Außerdem kommen Expert*innen von verschiedenen Institutionen, wie dem Studienkolleg, dem Studierendenwerk und dem Hochschulsport, um wertvolle Einblicke und Informationen zu geben. Folgende Themen werden in der Fachklasse besprochen:

• Studienbewerbung

Neben den Fachklassen gibt es noch weitere Angebote, wie Campusführungen, Mensatouren und Bibliotheksführungen. Auch Besuche bei Sozial- und Bafögberatungen durch das Studierendenwerk Hamburg gehören dazu. Darüber hinaus hast du die Möglichkeit, am Buddyprogramm teilzunehmen. Das Buddy-Programm bringt Teilnehmende von #UHHhilft mit Studierenden an der Universität Hamburg in Kontakt. Ziel des Programms ist es Raum für Austausch und Begegnung zu schaffen. So werden #UHHhilft Teilnehmenden auch sozial an das Uni Leben angebunden.

Zusätzlich arbeiten wir eng mit der internationalen Studienberatung der UHH zusammen, um individuelle Gespräche anzubieten. Hier unterstützen wir dich dabei, einen Plan für die Auswahl und Bewerbung auf einen Studienplatz zu erstellen. Auch bei der Anerkennung von Zeugnissen und Abschlüssen erhältst du wertvolle Unterstützung.

Außerdem hast du die Möglichkeit an den Sportangeboten an der UHH teilzunehmen. Dieses Angebot ist ideal, um freundschaftliche Kontakte zwischen Studierenden und Geflüchteten auch außerhalb der Vorlesungen zu fördern.

#UHHhilft's program schedules are based on the semester plan of Universität Hamburg. That's why our program starts at the beginning of each semester – in April and October.

We also have a small selection of toys and coloring materials so that your child doesn't get bored during the day.

Yes, the Coordination Center is wheelchair accessible. The other relevant rooms at the university are also wheelchair accessible.

Each program session lasts one semester, i.e. half a year. As a rule, the regular offer ends at the end of the lecture period, i.e. in mid-July or mid-February. But we are also available for you during the semester break.

The registration procedure is carried out via the online registration form. To complete your registartion, you will need basic information about yourself and your previous experience at school and/or university. If you have any questions about the registration process, the team at the Coordination Office will be happy to help.

After the registration phase, we will check the documents received. We will then get back to you.

To study at Universität Hamburg, you need a C1 level of German. You can find an overview of which German certificates are accepted at Universität Hamburg here.

You also need a university entrance qualification (HZB). In order to get this, you need to have your certificate recognized. If you would like to study at Universität Hamburg, this certificate recognition is free of charge. When you register for our program, we will do the certificate recognition together with you. As soon as we have the result of the recognition, we can discuss your next steps on the path to studying.

The bonus point system applies to applicants from non-EU countries. This system applies ONLY to the University of Hamburg. Other universities have different regulations. You can achieve a certain number of points in each box. The more points you get, the higher your chances of getting a place.

In the NC values table for non-EU applicants, you can see how many points you have needed in recent years for the respective degree program to get a place. These points can change every year. You can never predict how many points you will need for the coming semester to get a place.
