Our Program
#UHHhilft offers refugees with #UHHhilftstart support in starting their studies in Germany. We advise you individually in our coordination centre and accompany you in weekly specialist classes.
Our #UHHhilft programme supports you in finding the right degree programme, applying and finding your way around the university. Whether you want to continue your studies in Germany from another country or study at a university for the first time - we will accompany you along the way.
#UHHhilftstart takes place in the summer semester from April to September and in the winter semester from October to March. Registration is possible from 1 February to 15 March and from 1 August to 15 September.
What can you expect from #UHHhilftstart?
- Information: Ask the Coordination Centre for advice on study opportunities at Universität Hamburg and find out about the requirements.
- Weekly classes: From April to September (summer semester) and October to March (winter semester), you will meet weekly with other participants in a group. Our student staff will provide you with important information on study programmes, funding opportunities and more. In addition, experts from the Studienkolleg, Studierendenwerk, university sports and other organisations come by.
- Summer and winter AGs: Take advantage of our programmes to prepare specifically for your studies or to get in touch with other participants during activities
- Additional benefits: You get access to the libraries at Universität Hamburg and can take part in university sports
- Application assistance: We support you with every step of the application process at Universität Hamburg - from the recognition of your certificates to your application.
Eligibility requirements
- Being a refugee/ having a refugee status.
- You would like to apply for a place at a Hamburg university.
- You have German language skills to at least level B1.
