Current courses and further qualification options

Pflegende Angehörige übernehmen eine große Verantwortung – häufig auch ohne pflegerisches Vorwissen oder Kenntnisse über die Leistungen der Pflegekassen. Sie stehen immer wieder vor Situationen, in denen sie für die zu pflegende Person Entscheidungen treffen, Anträge stellen oder pflegerische Anforderungen einschätzen müssen. Dies geschieht zudem nicht selten unter einem hohen zeitlichen und emotionalen Druck. In Kooperation mit DIE ANGEHÖRIGENSCHULE – DAnS bieten die KWB e.V. Pflegecoachings zur Klärung individueller pflegerischer Fragestellungen an:

• Wie kann man sich auf die Eingruppierung in eine Pflegestufe durch die Begutachtung des MDK vorbereiten?
• Welche Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten gibt es in einer konkreten Pflegesituation?
• Welche praktischen Grundfertigkeiten werden für die Pflege benötigt?
• Welche Handgriffe und Produkte können die Arbeit erleichtern?
• Welche Hilfsmittel können beantragt werden?

Get in touch with people who are already caring for relatives and find information in advance of a care situation! You will benefit from the myriad experiences of other participants. The meeting is a great platform for exchange with family caregivers and experts:

• Deutsche Alzheimer Gesellschaft e.V.: Support and advice for people with dementia and their families
• Allianz pflegender Angehörige (alliance of family caregivers)—interest group and self-help in Hamburg and the North

As a matter of course, many family members take on the task of caring for relatives at home for as long as possible. A variety of courses are offered to assist and support these family caregivers. In caregiving courses, trained personnel provide practical guidance, tips, and tricks for everyday life, and a wealth of general information. The courses can help improve the quality and safety of day-to-day caregiving, thus also benefiting care receivers. Moreover, course participants can, for example, learn to better cope with psychological and physical strain, share experiences with other caregivers, and seek advice on suitable resources. The courses are generally free of charge.

• Hamburg’s Ministry of Social Affairs has compiled a list of caregiving courses for relatives by Hamburg district (in German only).
• DIE ANGEHÖRIGENSCHULE – DAnS (family caregivers’ school) provides various forms of assistance for caregiving relatives and prospective caregivers. All volunteer caregivers or prospective volunteers are welcome! The extensive course program is also designed for all people who want to prepare for a care situation.
  
• The Hamburger Angehörigenschule (family caregivers’ school Hamburg) offers free advice and a comprehensive training program for groups.
