Program description
The MBA in Health Management is aimed at university graduates employed at institutions, government authorities, and companies in the health care and social welfare sectors. It qualifies graduates to deal with the growing demands made on executives in these fields. Students gain the specialist, leadership, and methodological skills necessary for them to take on roles as leaders once they graduate.
Linking and integrating students' professional experiences into the program content is an important aspect of this professional master's program. An open "game plan" ensures that the various professional qualifications of the participants can be taken into account. Continuous supervision throughout the program provides additional support, as does a learning platform assisting students in fulfilling the program's high time demand.
Career prospects
With the MBA in health management, graduates are able to assume leading roles in hospitals, care and rehabilitation centers, and as advisors in the health care sector, administration, health authorities or medical associations, insurance companies, health insurance companies, and associations active in the health care sector.
Program structure
The master's program is organized part-time with weekend events in attendance and live online teaching via Zoom. It provides participants with the necessary technical, managerial and methodological skills that, after successful completion, will enable them to take on managerial tasks in the healthcare sector. An important component is feedback and inclusion of the professional activities of the students in the content of teaching.
When organizing the seminar, special emphasis was placed on good feasibility of the study. You can take part in the live online sections regardless of location, travel times and costs are reduced. This way we also enable participants with a challenging everyday working life or a long journey to take part in this program.
The students will receive continuous support. The virtual learning platform of the University of Hamburg OpenOLAT serves to provide study materials and allows an extended exchange among the students between the attendance phases. The thesis is written after the third semester.
