Registration
Would you like to take one of our language courses? Just use our online form to register during the registration period as listed in our course program.
There are different registration requirements depending upon your knowledge of the language you choose. You may, for example, be required to submit a certificate from your last language course along with your online registration form.
Beginners
Participants without any prior knowledge (beginners) should use the online form to register electronically for the appropriate courses in the language they want to learn. No placement tests are required but participants should register during the respective registration period.
Please click on "ohne Vorkenntnisse" under "Kenntnisse" to limit your search to currently available courses in your target language and at your target level.
Courses for beginners are marked as A1, A1/1 and L1. The pdf Wege durch die Niveaustufen der Allgemeinsprachen provides further information.
Please note: Places in courses for beginners are allocated according to the date of receipt of the online form.
Participants with prior knowledge
Participants with prior knowledge (follow-up registration)
If you have successfully completed a course in the language you want to learn within the last twelve months, you can register for a follow-up course. Please submit the certificate from the last course along with your online registration form.
Please click on "mit Vorkenntnissen" under "Kenntnisse" to select the target language and level.
Please note: If there are too many registrations for the number of places available, we will determine who receives a place via lottery.
Participants with prior knowledge (new registration)
If you already have skills in the language you want to learn but have neither taken a course in that language in the last twelve months nor taken a placement test, you must take a placement test.
After you have taken a placement test, a certificate will be sent out to you by email. You must submit this certificate together with the online registration form. The placement certificate does not constitute registration or confirmation of course participation.
Placement certificates and equivalent certificates from cultural or language institutes are recognized for twelve months. A certificate of participation in a language course in the VHS program is not recognized as a placement certificate.
Advanced courses are marked as A1/2, A2, A2/1, A2/2, A2/3, B1, B1/1, B1/2, B1/3, I/Stufe 2, I/Stufe 3, II/Stufe 1, II/Stufe 2, II/Stufe 3 sowie L2 & L3. The pdf Wege durch die Niveaustufen der Allgemeinsprachen provides further information.
Please note: If advanced courses cannot accommodate the number of registrations, placements will be determined by lottery.
