What can Wisskomm do?

Well-designed communication can increase the visibility of research, encourage collaboration, and highlight the significance of research findings for current social challenges. By building a bridge between researchers and society, research communication can make an important contribution to democratic and evidence-based dialogue and discussion culture, and work to combat false information.
Our Wisskomm services
Effective messaging and innovative dialogue-oriented approaches are decisive for successful research communication. The target groups range from children to seniors, as well as people of all ages less involved in research or academia. In collaboration with the faculties and institutions, the Department of Communication and Marketing has organized a range of Wisskomm formats, and provides an extensive range of services to help researchers.
Examples of Wissen für alle
We take a range of formats from the lecture hall or research lab out into the city to encourage communication on equal terms. All researchers are invited to make their work accessible to the public using these services.

It puts particular focus on exchange both among the research community and with other Wisskomm professionals.

Contact and assistance
The Department of Communication and Marketing is the central coordination point for research communication at the University of Hamburg. It is the point of contact for all Wisskomm matters. In addition, there are a range of decentralized offices, for example, in the faculties, as well as external services.
