Trainer for Diversity Skills
I am offering workshops together with Kathrin Pollow: Let’s talk about racism! Anti-Racism & Decolonization.
Hello, I’m Cane, a girl from Hamburg with a special love for languages. In 2018 I graduated with a Bachelor in Education and a minor in Business Administration. Since then I have been studying Multilingual Educational Linguistics in a master’s degree program at the University of Hamburg.
In both, my bachelor and my master’s programmes, I look at research topics from many different interdisciplinary perspectives and question them again and again. I grew up bilingual Turkish-German and therefore I am used to finding myself, switching and translating between different worlds. My interest is to unite these worlds. For this purpose, I dedicate my studies, my private and my professional life to post-colonial theory on migration und critical race theory, because I am firmly convinced that living in an equal society can only be generated if previous social structures are critically examined.
In our workshops I would like us to practice the integration of critical race theory into our lives. We start with a reflection on ourselves, our individual and social privileges, and the structures in which we live and continue with the discussion of possible courses of action. Here, at PIASTA, we offer these workshops in German and English. But you can also contact me in Turkish and Spanish.
