PIASTA Language Café
¡Hola! Ciao et bonjour! Are you learning a language and looking for a chance to practice outside the classroom? We invite you to visit one of our language cafés. Like a café, a language café is a place you can simply drop by: order a tea or coffee, join the others at the table, and in no time at all you’ll be chatting in a comfortable setting. The sessions are led by native speaking volunteers. They’ll be sure to get the conversation going. And if you can’t think of the right word, they’ll be glad to help.
Schedule for the Summer Semester 2021
You can sign up through the booking app UHH Join for weekly Language Cafés (winter semester 2021/22).
Looking forward meeting you soon!
Target group: Learners who already understand and can speak a bit of the respective language as well as native speakers who would like to have the opportunity to speak their native language and to help others learn a language.

Where do the language cafés take place?
Due to the coronavirus pandemic some of the Langues Cafés take place in presence, some digitally.
How can I register?
All registrations must be done via the booking app UHH Join.
Can I host a language café myself?
Yes, but contact us first with a proposal: piasta-sprachen"AT"uni-hamburg.de
I would like a language café in a language that is not available
Unfortunately, we can’t open a language café for all languages. However, you can send us an email and let us know what language you would like. If there is enough interest, we can try to find a coordinator.
