How does a university contribute to sustainable development? Our impact model distinguishes three areas: the “brainprint,” which refers to the contribution of our research to sustainable transformation; the “handprint,” which refers to the contribution from student learning, teaching, and knowledge exchange; and the “footprint,” which refers to the impacts of our own operations, such as greenhouse gas emissions. This makes it clear where we are cutting back and where we are shaping the future.
