Central Student Exchange Program
Berkeley, Sydney, Tokyo: Over 90 university places worldwide
Universität Hamburg offers interdisciplinary exchange programs with partner universities in Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the USA. University places are allocated centrally by the Department of International Affairs via a selection procedure. Exchange students receive administrative support both from the Department of International Affairs as well as from the host university. The exchange includes waivered tuition fees at the partner university. Depending on the specific university, it may also include a guaranteed place in a dorm room or a partial scholarship. In most cases, these university places can be combined with a Hamburglobal grant, but read up on other types of financing as well. You can attend a partner university for one or two semesters.
Only Universität Hamburg students enrolled with the objective of earning a degree from Universität Hamburg may apply (i.e., no visiting or exchange students). There are 2 application rounds each year, one in May and one in November, with different partner universities to choose from in each round.
