An Erasmus+ traineeship is a great way to gain practical experience abroad while receiving a grant and formal academic recognition. While prospective student interns need to find their own internship (research internships at universities are also acceptable), funding is usually available if all program criteria are fulfilled. Please submit applications at least four weeks before the internship is scheduled to begin. What requirements do you need to fulfill to do an Erasmus+ internship?
- You must be enrolled at Universität Hamburg.
- The internship must be offered for at least two months (e.g., 15 June to 14 August) and may not exceed four months.
- Full-time internship (min. 35h/week)
- Multiple participations in the Erasmus+ program with a maximum duration of 12 months is possible. If you already spent an Erasmus+ period abroad, you may apply again to Erasmus+.
If an internship with an EU institution, representative national institution of your home country (e.g., the German embassy), or other cultural institution representing your home country (e.g., cultural institutes or schools) does not fulfill the transnational criteria as set forth in the Training Agreement, you are not eligible for the Erasmus+ internship program.
There are DAAD funding programs for these kinds of internships.
How do I find an internship? Where can I find accounts by other students?
You can consult the DAAD to search for an internship or find student accounts.
You can find addresses and further information on our internship page (in German).
