The University of Hamburg launched its new “Global Competence for Academic Administration” (GloCAA) certificate program with a kickoff event on 7 July 2025.
During an interactive workshop led by Dr. Elisabeth Trepesch, participants shared their experiences working within international contexts, discussed the challenges they have encountered, and reflected on their expectations for the certificate program. Courtney Peltzer-Hönicke, Head of International Affairs, presented the university's internationalization strategy, highlighting the critical role of a globally competent administration for the university’s successful internationalization.
The GloCAA certificate program, offered by the Department of International Affairs, is specifically designed for technical, administrative, and library staff. It is developed in collaboration with the University Language Center and Human Resources Development at the University of Hamburg. For the pilot phase, 24 participants from the Academic Offices of the WiSo and MIN faculties were selected.
Further information about the program can be found on its website.
