Student research groups

At 16.6 percent of the population, the number of people in Germany who are threatened by poverty reached a new high last year. Helen Dambach and Mats Pachalli are analyzing how people experience poverty, and why they are revealing their problems. Universität Hamburg—University of Excellence funds research projects as part of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments.

Artificial intelligence is involved in the creation of artworks. It challenges our aesthetic assumptions and creates legal quandaries—say Dalia Moniat and Sarah Steffens. With funds from the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments, the students are researching the issue.

Courses on academic writing, student projects, and seminars on current issues: Since the beginning of October 2021, the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies and Academic Skills has offered a range of opportunities to students.

Within the framework of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments, Universität Hamburg is announcing a new funding round for student research projects. In this program, the University is currently funding 17 projects, including one on digital fashion.

Effective immediately, Universität Hamburg is funding 9 student research projects as part of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments. The University is granting about €60,000. 

Theory requires practice, and voluntary research groups are a good opportunity to put knowledge to the test. Students are developing apps for shuttle buses, revitalizing the medicinal garden at the Institute of Pharmacy, and reconstructing an ancient linothorax, which is a type of upper body armor.
