Registering for classes

Students at Universität Hamburg must register for their chosen classes in STiNE each semester.

Registration Periods for the Winter Semester 2026/27

Early Registration Period	Mon, 29th June 2026, 9 am to Thu, 9th July 2026, 1 pm
General Registration Period	Mon, 31st August 2026, 9 am to Thu, 17th September 2026, 1 pm
Late Registration Period	Mon, 28th September 2026, 9 am to Thu, 1st October 2026, 1 pm
Registration Period for First-Semester Students	Mon, 5th October 2026, 9 am to Thu, 8th October 2026, 4 pm
Changes and Corrections Period	Mon, 12th October 2026, 9 am to Thu, 22nd October 2026, 1 pm

Students already enrolled at Universität Hamburg

For students who are not changing their degree program, the early registration period (not available for all degree programs) and the general registration period apply.

First-semester students (bachelor's/master's programs) and students changing degree programs

For students who are beginning their studies at Universität Hamburg for the first time, as well as for students changing the degree program and for students in the first master semester, the registration period for first-semester students applies.

Higher subject semester

Students who are already enrolled at Universität Hamburg and who are changing to the higher subject semester of another degree program can register for classes in the general registration period or, at the latest, in the changes and corrections period, depending on when they are transferred to the new degree program.
If classes from the first subject semester are still to be taken for the new degree program, the registration period for first-semester students applies.

For students who are transferring from another university to the higher subject semester of a degree program at Universität Hamburg, enrollment often takes place after the end of the general registration period. Registration for classes of the higher subject semesters is only possible in the changes and corrections period. If classes from the first subject semester are still to be taken for the new degree program, the registration period for first-semester students applies.
