Program description
The development of specific knowledge and skills in the fields of international corporate management and sustainability forms the focus of the Master of Innovation, Business and Sustainability (MIBAS). The MIBAS program brings together students from different cultural backgrounds and provides them with a platform for jointly developing an understanding of the complex interactions within the global economy. The program’s taught component familiarizes students with the many theoretical and practical challenges companies and society face in the pursuit of sustainable business strategies.
Students are introduced to the ethical, ecological, social, and political implications of corporate value creation processes with the aim of fostering a strong sense of responsibility among students aspiring to be future leaders. This is an international and interdisciplinary program, and, from winter semester 2016/17 onwards, it is taught completety in English.

The in-depth theoretical and methodological skills taught during this program qualify graduates for positions in multinational companies and organizations.

The two-year master’s program is subdivided into six thematic areas with a final master’s thesis:

Program description
MIBAS will be offered with a new profile: the curriculum has been updated and expanded, with a new program title and academic degree reflecting the change. Pending the approval of the relevant bylaws through the UHH Executive University Board, the following rules for the course of studies will become effective for applicants and new students for the winter semester 2023/2024. The amended versions of subject-specific bylaws approved for publication are not yet available. Currently, only the previous version is online.

Applicants to the master’s program must meet the following criteria:
- Proof of a university degree in socioeconomics or an equivalent degree in social sciences, economics and business administration or law. Graduates from other degrees can be admitted if they can prove sufficient expertise in business administration.
- Proof of English proficiency.

Applications are always possible for winter semester; the application period for the international master's programs runs from 15 February to 31 March of each year for winter semester (starting in October).
