Legal basis Section 181 Book IX of the German Social Security Code
The employer appoints a commissioner to represent severely disabled employees; if necessary, several commissioners or representatives may be appointed. If possible, the commissioner should also be a person with a disability. The commissioner primarily monitors whether the employer fulfills all obligations.
Tasks
Universität Hamburg’s employer’s representative for persons with disabilities has, in particular, the following tasks:
- support the employer in matters concerning employees with disabilities
- consult on the employer’s behalf with the disability representatives for the technical, library, and administrative staff as well as for the academic staff
- consult with disabled employees on behalf of the employer
