The Language Center offers a number of English classes specifically targeted at administrative staff as well as at doctoral candidates and academic staff.
Classes for Administrative Staff
When do the classes start?
The intensive classes take place in March/April 2023. Each class takes one week. You will find the dates in our course plan.
The semester classes for summer semester 2023 start in the week of: April 11, 2023

You can only register for our courses via STiNE.
Please note, however, that you FIRST have to take our placement test BEFORE you can register for our courses. Read more under Placement and Registration.
Course Types and Specific Subject Areas
The content of intensive classes resembles that of the normal semester classes, but allows students to improve their language skills in a compressed timeframe.
Our academic writing classes give students the opportunity to improve their writing skills specific to what is needed for their studies and later for their careers.
The applied language classes focus on a specific field of study and teach the language skills specifically relevant to this field.
Intercultural competence seminars prepare the students for working in a multinational context
Our communication skills seminars focus on verbal communication and presentation skills and enables the students to present effectively.
Our test preparation classes prepare students to take standardized tests, specifically the TOEFL exam.
Lexicon, grammar, academic writing, applied language and intercultural communication courses to improve each of the language skills. Suitable for all faculties.
Italian, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Portuguese
In-depth and preparatory courses for study, work, life and the scientific application of the language of study. The grammar and vocabulary that cause most difficulties for advanced level students will be reinforced.
