- Send us your calculations— we will be glad to review and optimize them for you.
Good to know
- Budget planning is an important part of the EU application. Your budget should be well thought out. Calculate the individual costs together with your EU advisor.
Acquiring project funding: Grant agreement / approval

We help you
- review and sign the grant agreement (EU Funding Programs Team)
- gain access in the participant pool to the external funding staff member responsible (project management tool for the EU) (Section 75: External-Funding Management)
- plan your costs, especially staff costs (Section 75: External-Funding Management)
- complete the notification form for externally funded projects (PDF). You should discuss all necessary equipment and supplies with your contacts in the faculty.
Good to know
- The grant agreement is the contract with the EU and must be signed by all project partners.

Project start

- set up a project account (Section 75: External-Funding Management)
- hire staff (HR).
Good to know
- The project can begin as soon as approval has been provided by the external-funding source.
- In order to use the funds, you will need a project account (WBS element). All project-specific transactions are made from this account and recorded here—as are incoming funds, expenses, and costs.
- The project account is set up by Section 75: External-Funding Management and made available to the project management.
- The hiring procedure can take up to 6 weeks.

- if you want to undertake work-related travel (Work-Related Travel Team).

Project completion

We help you create the necessary final financial report for the EU throughout possible audits.
Good to know
- The project account will be closed by Section 75: External-Funding Management upon project completion.
- An interim or final audit by an auditor may be required for your EU project. This depends on the program and the funding volume for your program. For initial orientation:
- for FP7 projects, audit required if EU contribution exceeds €375,000
- for H2020 projects, audit necessary if direct costs exceed €325,000 (audit at end of project only)
