Trial lectures for prospective students

Some departments offer selected lectures that are open to prospective students, allowing them to gain an impression of the study programs and orient themselves in their decision-making process.

If no specific courses are offered within your area of interest, you have the option to search for and attend lectures via the Public Course Directory. Please note that this is strictly for attending lectures; participation in seminars is not possible.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the study programs by attending these targeted courses, helping you to make an informed decision about your field of study.

Recommendations

The lecture series The hows and whys of studying provides a great preparation before applying to University. We also recommend the videos or podcasts from the same series, which are available on our webpage Degree programs.

To ensure that regular instruction can proceed smoothly, we ask that you please observe the following instructions:

  • Groups should register directly with the instructor or via studienorientierung"AT"uni-hamburg.de.
  • In exceptional cases, we ask individuals to register. Please refer to the course catalog for further information.
  • Please take note of all information concerning certain lectures or courses for which attendence is only recommended on selected dates.
  • Unless stated otherwise, please limit your attendance to three to five classes per degree program and the same number of lectures per series.
  • Please arrive punctually and do not disrupt the class or lecture by talking.

Uni live! catalog

The Uni-live! catalog has been integrated into STiNE (Study Information Net). It covers all subjects except medicine.

Please keep in mind that most courses require proficiency in German.

Tips for students with disabilities or chronic diseases

Please inform us as soon as possible in case you need special services (e.g., sign-language interpretion, assistance) or technical aids (e.g., a FM system). The staff of the Office of Affairs for Students with Disabilities or Chronic Diseases will gladly assist you with all questions.
