Center for Academic Advising
The Center for Academic Advising advises secondary-school, prospective and enrolled students on all matters related to studying at Universität Hamburg. This includes questions about program curricula, various application procedures as well as academic guidance and organizing your studies .
During their time at university, many students experience periods of personal strain or emotional crisis which they cannot always master on their own. Students with problems in their academic or personal lives which are negatively affecting their ability to learn, work, write, speak or take exams, or students struggling with loneliness, depression and anxiety can turn to our psychological counselling services.
These seminars are based on the needs of students and arise from the day-to-day work of the Center for Academic Advising and Psychological Counselling. They also reflect some of the issues related to studying in Hamburg generally. Topics include: Extemporaneous speaking, exam preparation, final theses, time management, social contacts and much more.
Hilfe und Orientierung für psychisch erkrankte Studierende (HOPES): Support for students with psychological disorders
There are special services for students at all universities in Hamburg who have suffered from a pyschological trauma or who have received psychiatric care and who seek help mastering program requirements.
Office of Affairs for Students with Disabilities or Chronic Diseases
Do you have a disabilitiy (or a chronic disease) which could affect your chances for admission or your studies? Do you need more flexibility with regard to your program, your workload or exam regulations? The Office of Affairs for Students with Disabilities or Chronic Diseases can advide and support you in all matters related to preparing to study, applying and studying.
