Master Student at Universität Hamburg – Student Exchange to Macquarie University

The international experience afforded me through the trilateral research partnership between Hamburg-Macquarie-Fudan in conjunction with DAAD funding has enabled me to take part in a six-month exchange program to Sydney, Australia. This includes the opportunity to participate in an international research project on risk management regulation.

When I applied to study abroad early in 2015, my expectations did not come close to the experience I have had in Sydney working in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance. This opportunity has greatly assisted my personal development and having such an international experience will enhance my career opportunities back in Germany.

 Australia is one of the most incredible countries I have ever seen. Its endless beaches, tropical to temperate climates, and unique wildlife, and Australian’s famous laid-back mentality make this country an experience I will never forget. Going abroad during your studies will always have an incredible impact on the way you see the world and I hope the efforts of the people behind the trilateral cooperation will encourage many more students to apply and have similar experiences.
