Public History

The Department of History at Universität Hamburg, in particular in the field of public history, is pursuing transnational cooperation with Macquarie University’s Centre for Applied History in the field of public history. We aim to develop an exchange program for students and the establishment of a transnational student research group (SRG) on the history of German overseas migration to Australia.

In order to strengthen research in the field of public history, we are striving to establish an international working group, Public History in Historical Perspective, and its institutionalization at the International Federation for Public History (IFPH).
