Financing your doctorate
There are various options to cover your living expenses while completing your doctoral dissertation. Many candidates apply for doctoral funding, take a job at the University, or work in an external research facility.

Universities largely employ doctoral students as research associates or in projects that receive external funding, e.g., from the German Research Foundation (DFG) or private companies.
