Balancing work and family is not new to us: for decades, we have been offering flexible working hours and extensive opportunities to work from home. Our Family Office is a skilled point of reference for any questions you have on balancing work and family. This is why we were awarded certification as a family-friendly university.

We have many locations in Hamburg. Our main locations are centrally located and easy to reach in the borough of Eimsbüttel, but we are also located at the innovation park—Science City Hamburg-Bahrenfeld—and in some green spaces as well (e.g., the Botanic Gardens in Klein Flottbek and the Observatory in Bergedorf).

The health of our staff members is important to us. In addition to many internal health programs, you may also take part in University Sports activities. We also provide a comprehensive range of psychosocial services to provide our staff with preventative care. Of course, we also provide a return-to-work program.

Sustainability to us is not just about environmental protection but also about a mindset that extends to professional life in many ways— for example, trying to find solutions that not only are appropriate for the now but also lead to synergies that extend into the future and across the community.

Anyone working for the University is remunerated in accordance with a long-term, confirmed pay-scale model. After 5 years of employment, it also includes a university pension. We provide secure employment with room to grow for dedicated staff members.

Is your professional development important to you? Our internal development provides tailor-made opportunities for every stage in an academic or nonacademic career, including management development programs. University staff may also participate in the state professional development program. We support lifelong learning.
