The call for applications for the 2026 Equal Opportunity Fund is now open: Apply until 30 March 2026 for projects on general equity issues in studies, teaching and research, as well as measures to reduce gender-specific disadvantages!
With the Equal Opportunity Fund, the University aims to support projects that are aimed at implementing the University of Hamburg's equal opportunity goals. The funds are available for the following types of support:
- Projects (courses, conferences, exhibitions, research applications, etc.) relating to gender, diversity, and combining family and career. A maximum of €5,000 in funding is available per project.
- Completion scholarships for female researchers to complete their doctoral dissertation or Habilitation (max. 6 months). Precedence will be given to dissertations relating to gender/diversity as well as to applications from young female researchers with children or a relative requiring care. The amount of the completion scholarship is based on the guidelines for scholarships at the University of Hamburg.
- Measures to facilitate the reconciliation of career and family both for individual researchers (e.g., student support for young researchers with children or a relative requiring care) as well as to make the University more family-friendly as a whole.
Applications can be submitted to chancengerechtigkeit"AT"uni-hamburg.de until 30 March 2026.
