Focus on equitys: diversity initiatives

An important part of equity work is increasing the visibility of gender equality, diversity, and achieving a meaningful work-life balance. The University of Hamburg already has many research and teaching projects and student initiatives committed to diversity. The Equity Unit puts out a podcast, Gleichheitszeichen, sharing stories of University researchers who are committed to equal opportunities. The Kurs Gleichstellung portrait series also presents projects and people who are committed to diversity and have received funding from the Equity Unit. Today’s commitment follows in the footsteps of pioneers who have fought for equal rights since the University of Hamburg was founded. To mark the University’s anniversary in 2019, the Equity Unit presented important women from the University of Hamburg’s history.
