Diversity Days at the University of Hamburg

In 2025, the Equal Opportunities Unit, together with many other stakeholders at the university, offered an extensive programme (PDF in german) for the eleventh time from 23 to 27 June on the occasion of Diversity Days. This year, there were almost 40 events for staff, students and the public to exchange ideas, learn and experience.

In 2024, the Equal Opportunities Unit, together with many other stakeholders at the university, offered an extensive programme (PDF in german)  for the tenth time from 10 to 14 June on the occasion of Diversity Days. The wide range of approximately 40 events enabled staff and students to learn about and discuss various aspects of diversity at the University of Hamburg.

From 5 to 9 June 2023, the Equal Opportunities Office, together with many other stakeholders at the University, offered an extensive programme (PDF in german) with approximately 30 events (digital, hybrid, and in-person) for the ninth time on the occasion of Diversity Days. In a variety of event formats, staff and students explored different aspects of diversity at the University of Hamburg.

This year, Diversity Days took place from 13 to 17 June 2022. For the eighth time, the Equal Opportunities Office, together with many other stakeholders at our university, offered an extensive programme (PDF in german) (see also programme booklet (PDF in german)), with events taking place digitally, hybridly and in person, depending on the pandemic situation. In addition to over 35 events, there were also various podcasts on the topic of diversity from within the university and several other offerings.

For the second time in digital form, Diversity Days took place at the University of Hamburg in the week of 7–11 June 2021 with this programme (PDF in german). In various events, the initiators and participants explored the diversity of the University of Hamburg and its members, this year with a particular focus on the challenges of the pandemic from a diversity perspective.

In the week from 8 June to 12 June 2020, Diversity Days at the University of Hamburg took place digitally for the first time. As part of the programme (PDF in german), numerous events and activities provided impetus and helped to further raise the profile of diversity at the university.

During the week of 17–21 June 2019, diversity at the University of Hamburg was brought into focus with this programme (PDF in german) by a wide variety of UHH stakeholders.

From 30 May to 6 June 2018, Diversity Days took place for the first time over several days at the University of Hamburg (as part of the Sustainability Action Days). The diverse programme (PDF in german) consisted of more than twenty events on the topic of diversity.

On 30 May 2017, the University of Hamburg participated for the second time in the German Diversity Day organised by the Diversity Charter. The programme (PDF in german) was integrated into the German Sustainability Action Days, which also took place at the University of Hamburg from 30 May to 2 June 2017.

The first Diversity Day at the University of Hamburg took place on 7 June 2016 with a colourful programmme (PDF in german) consisting of 19 events.
