The University of Hamburg is once again announcing the Agathe Lasch Visiting Scientist Program for Women in Academia and is calling for applications and nominations until 30 March 2026.
Named after the first female professor at the University of Hamburg, this interdisciplinary visiting scholar programme is designed to help female academics in underrepresented fields become a strong and more visible presence. These visiting scholars will serve as role models in research and teaching. Establishing these visiting professorships will also support early career researchers at the University of Hamburg to create and strengthen their academic network.
The University of Hamburg invites applications for two visiting professorships. Visiting professorships are open to female professors or researchers with a Habilitation or equivalent (e.g., junior professors, associate professors) from all subject areas from Germany or abroad who would like to spend three to six months at the University of Hamburg in the winter semester 2026/27.
All faculties/departments and central academic institutions at University of Hamburg (excluding the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, UKE) may put forward suggestions for potential visiting professors. In addition, potential visiting professors may apply on their own, where they have the support of the department or unit.
Applications can be submitted by 30 March 2026 to chancengerechtigkeit"AT"uni-hamburg.de.
