The e-learning course provides basic knowledge of science communication. It focuses on topics such as dimensions of science communication, the interplay between different actors and target groups and dealing with media requests. You will also learn how to plan your communication strategically and know which different options are available to you.

The interactive learning units are modular and take around 8 hours in total. The content is varied and includes animations and videos. The e-learning can be accessed online at any time between mid-April and the end of September 2026, so that you can flexibly integrate the course into your everyday life.

The course content was created by the National Institute for Science Communication (NaWik). The course takes place via the online platform "WissKomm-Campus", accessible with all common browsers. No other software is required. We assure you of compliance with all fair data use regulations and the protection of your personal data. You can find more about this in the data protection declaration.

On 13 April, you will receive the access code. Additionally, there will be a – voluntary – short virtual kick-off session in case you have any questions about the platform or the Research Communication Certificate.
