This year, five bands and a DJ duo will be providing the music.

The big festival on the Von-Melle-Park campus has become a wonderful tradition. On 18 June, the university, in collaboration with the Studierendenwerk Hamburg, is once again inviting all staff, students, and their families and friends to come together starting at 4 pm to enjoy music, activities, and socializing.

With cool drinks and delicious food—including a selection of vegan and vegetarian options—and a guaranteed serving of good summer weather, a colorful program themed “For a Strong Community” awaits all revelers on the main campus in the Grindelviertel.

The event will feature both hands-on activities and exciting insights into various areas of the university. In addition to a flea market, sports and games, and a children’s program featuring face painting and a bouncy castle, numerous departments and institutions—such as the Sustainability Office, the Healthy Campus, the Hamburg Research Academy, and PIER Plus, as well as the AStA—will be introducing themselves.

The University of Hamburg is Colorful and Dancing

A special highlight is the launch of the “University of Hamburg is Colorful” campaign. Visitors not only have the opportunity to discover the new collection at the Unikontor, but can also take part in a large photo campaign at the Department 2: Communication and Marketing booth.

The centerpiece of the successful party is, of course, the stage at the Campus Festival with a varied music program. This year’s lineup includes Maja, Softblech, no decision., baydream, Flacker, and the DJ duo Susi and Paula. The lineup, featuring exclusively students and alumni, underscores: Our Campus Festival is an invitation to dance from the university to the university!

All members of the university are therefore cordially invited to celebrate together from 4 pm to 10 pm—and their families, friends, and neighbors from the university district are, of course, also welcome. The event will take place at the Von-Melle-Park campus, where, in the spirit of sustainability and cost-efficiency, the booths and tents from the Stellenwerk job fair “Hello Arbeitswelt,” held on 16 and 17 June, will be utilized.
