The University of Hamburg has overhauled STiNE, its campus management system web portal. The update comes with a more responsive design and a new look and feel. We have improved STiNE’s accessibility, particularly its mobile accessibility, and usability. And as everywhere at the University of Hamburg, 2-factor authentication now ensures greater cybersecurity.
The Study Information Net, STiNE for short is an efficient platform for managing students, rooms, courses, and exams in the area of Studies and Teaching. STiNE has been overhauled to help students and newcomers find their feet more easily. Its responsive design adjusts the layout, content, and functionality based on the user’s device and screen size, thus making STiNE more intuitive and usable.
“STiNE’s fresh and modern design was made possible by a range of committed people who contributed and tested valuable ideas for change. Critical feedback from the last several years inspired its improved navigation, its mobile usability, and its general accessibility,” says Prof. Dr. Natalia Filatkina, vice president of the University of Hamburg.
Student feedback
Each redesign bears the risk of errors, such as display errors, which indicate further need for optimization. We ask students to provide feedback via the support form in their STiNE account. “In line with the University’s flexible digital strategy, constructive suggestions will be adopted as soon as possible,” says Prof. Dr. Sebastian Gerling, chief digital officer of the University of Hamburg.
