MMKH-Workshop: Creative Commons & Co.: Royalty-free content in the university context

This event takes place in German.

This online training provides a brief overview of copyright law within the broader context of intellectual property rights, particularly regarding the limitations on copyright for making content available for teaching and research purposes (§ 60a German Copyright Act).

The main focus of the online training, however, is the system of so-called "free licenses" within copyright law, using the Creative Commons license model as an example. This license model is explained in detail and illustrated with examples of its use in a university setting.

No prior knowledge of copyright law or free licenses is required for this online training; it is geared towards beginners.

Participants are encouraged to prepare their own questions/cases in advance and present them during the training.

All training courses offered by the MMKH are free of charge for employees of the University of Hamburg.
