Collaborations with external partners make a vital contribution to knowledge exchange, innovation, and social progress. They enable the targeted exchange of ideas, research findings, and expertise – across institutional and disciplinary boundaries.

Transfer Collaborations

Are you planning to collaborate with practice partners to apply or utilize scientific findings?
The Cooperation Management Team advises and supports you in all phases of your transfer collaboration – from the initial idea to the signing of the contract. Our focus is on collaborations in which established scientific findings or inventions are further developed and put into practical use.

Consulting on:

  • Initiation, conclusion, and implementation of transfer-related contracts
  • Cooperation agreements with external partners
  • Confidentiality agreements (CDA/NDA)


Support through:

  • Review and legal safeguarding of contract drafts
  • Provision of proven contract templates
  • Guidance in contract negotiations
  • Advice on ongoing or expiring agreements

Would you like to work together with other institutions to develop new scientific knowledge?

In research collaborations, the focus is on collaborative work toward a shared scientific goal. The Contract Management Office of the University of Hamburg is responsible for the contractual implementation.
