The Anti-Corruption Office at Universität Hamburg has the following responsibilities:
The Anti-Corruption Office was established on the basis of an agreement set forth in the "General Administrative Regulations on Anti-Corruption Measures (in particular corruption prevention)" in accordance with § 94 of the Hamburg Employee Representative Act of 30 August 2001, which specifies public servants' advising and support obligations with regard to suspicion of corruption (§ 35 in connection with § 33 of the Hamburg Public Service Act). This also provides guidelines for professional conduct and applies to employees in the private sector, as well (§ 3 (1-3) of the Wage Agreement for Public Service in the States, TV-L).
This regulation does not affect the right to bring charges with the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
The Anti-Corruption Office, like the Office of Internal Auditing, is independent and has unlimited access to information although it does not have administrative authority over employees or other offices and institutions of the University.
