Information Day for the University of Hamburg’s Open Study Program

The Open Study Program gives inquisitive people of all ages a chance to continue with their learning at the University of Hamburg. The following consultation formats will be available on 25 February 2026 to provide information and orientation:
Come and join the in-person information lecture at 10 am in the Main Building of the University of Hamburg (Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, 20146 Hamburg, Lecture Hall C). Registration is not required.
At 2 pm, there will also be an online information session via Zoom. You can register for this lecture online.
From 10 am to 4 pm you can also get an individual and non-binding telephone consultation on the contact study program using the telephone number: +40 40 42838‑9705.
Both lectures will teach you everything you need to know about the Open Study Program: What is the Open Study Program? What’s on offer? Who can join? How can I register? How much does the program cost?
You can ask questions immediately following the talks.
Pick any subject and attend lectures and seminars alongside regularly enrolled students! You can also choose the scope, content, and duration of your studies—for example, choose your favorite subjects or combine lectures from various subjects. There is no examination or performance pressure. The Open Study Program is intended as a personal educational opportunity and does not award degrees.
In addition to faculty events, there is a fringe program organized exclusively for Open Study Program students, in Summer Semester 2026, there will be courses on history, literature, media, art, culture, the geosciences, and biology. There will also be introductions to academic work and computer courses that help you organize your studies.
The cross-subject topic is Building Bridges which offers, in particular, courses that take a literary, media, or cultural perspective. There will be face-to-face and online events.
