From business studies, to sign language, to teaching, from the possibilities of 3D printing in medicine to a guided tour through a wind tunnel: from 8 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, all high-school students currently in the upper Abitur grades and all other prospective students are cordially invited to get to know northern Germany’s largest university in person.
The various program items are all aimed at finding the right course of study for you. Each subject will be presented to provide insights on their content and courses of study. School students can not only talk to our teaching staff, but also to students in the courses. They will explain one-on-one what they find exciting in their subjects, and what you should definitely know before applying.
There are also more than 170 events for visitors to ask their individual questions and receive advice on a potential application. Comprehensive information is also provided on overarching topics such as student financing, and an introduction to many central institutions such as University Sports, University Music, and other university communities.
Unitag activities will take place at 3 main University locations: the Main Building (Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1), the Von-Melle-Park Campus (buildings 4–9) around the Audimax, and the Martin Luther King Campus (Martin-Luther-King Platz 6).
In order to easily find the right events for you, find out in advance what is on, and where, and prepare your own timetable for your visit. The Unitag website had all the important information and an animated short film that gives practical tips for planning. On the day itself, there will be service points in front of the Main Building and the Audimax as well as in Von-Melle-Park 5, which will be distributing site maps and giveaways such as the coveted University of Hamburg tote bags, as well as helping finding your way around.
The University is looking forward to greeting high-school students on 24 February. And for all those who can’t come to Hamburg in person, selected events will be livestreamed on the website.
