Cluster of Excellence "Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction" (CLISAP) (KlimaCampus Hamburg)
The Cluster of Excellence Integrated Climate System Analysis and
Prediction (CliSAP) addresses our global climate system and global
climate change just as well as regional aspects of climate change and
the issue of humans and climate.
In addition to the
University providing about 250 scientists and technicians, the Max
Planck Institute for Meteorology, the Helmholtz Center in Geesthacht and
the German Climate Computing Center are involved.
Moreover,
the cluster provides the impetus for these partners to merge, creating
KlimaCampus Hamburg. KlimaCampus constitutes a focal point of all
research activities – promoting even closer interdisciplinary
collaboration.
The Cluster of Excellence will receive DFG funding (German Research Foundation) from 2007 to 2017.
Subsequently, all scientific work will be incorporated into the Center
for Earth System Research and Sustainability at Universität Hamburg,
CEN.
The speaker is Prof. Dr. Martin Claußen, professor at Universität Hamburg as well as director at the Max Planck Institute
for Meteorology in Hamburg.
