Call for Participation: Open Lab Days!

The Co-Creation & Engagement Center of the University of Hamburg is coordinating this year’s nationwide Open Living Lab Days together with colleagues from RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin, IÖR Dresden, KIT Karlsruhe, and TU Munich. During these Open Living Lab Days, living labs across the country are invited to open their doors to the public for one day.

Making living labs visible and accessible, showcasing achievements, and rethinking sustainability — this is the goal of the Netzwerk Reallabore der Nachhaltigkeit (NRN) and the Gesellschaft für transdisziplinäre und partizipative Forschung (GTPF, AG Reallabore), who are launching the first nationwide Open Living Lab Days ***Tage des offenen Reallabors*** in 2025.

From June 30 to July 6, 2025, all living labs are invited to open their doors on one or several days. Activities, dialogue formats, guided tours, or workshops will offer insights into ongoing living lab work. Each lab can design its own program in terms of timing, format, and scope. This week aims to make living labs tangible experiences, foster inspiration, and create broad visibility.

The action week is supported through poster and flyer templates, press coverage, and visibility for all participating labs and their programs on the NRN website. It also includes one online event to kick off the week and another to close it.
