Hamburg by Night: Sternschanze
The multicultural Schanzenviertel is popular with students as a place to live and hang out. Bars, restaurants, cafés, falafel stands, secondhand stores, and fashion boutiques line the streets of the district. The Volkshochschule (adult education center), the cinema Kino 3001, and the alternative cultural center Haus 73 all contribute to the Schanze’s culturally diverse landscape. The heart of the Schanzenviertel is Schulterblatt, a square where visitors can eat and drink at any of the numerous pubs into the wee hours of the night. After we meet at PIASTA on Rentzelstraße, you will be off on a tour led by PIASTA tutors that will introduce you to the Sternschanze district and provide some insider tips for your next visit to the Schanze!
