Everyday Life with a Visual Impairment
Sighted people often take their eyesight for granted and are used to seeing the world through their own eyes. But how is everyday life for those living with a visual impairment? How do you go shopping when your eyesight is limited? How do you manage university when the degree program is likely to be designed for sighted people? During this week, we will engage with the topic of diversity of perception and attempt to understand the world of the visually impaired. What are some of the challenges they face in their everyday lives and how do they overcome them? What are some alternative ways of reading, observing, and finding your way around?
