About me
My name is Sadiq Rahman. I am from Calcutta, India. After completing my Bachelors and Masters degree in English Literature, I went to USA on a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at the University of Texas, Austin. Besides teaching at the University I also studied interesting subjects related to film, media and literature. Having completed my scholarship years in USA,I worked as an Assistant Professor for five years in some of the best Business Schools in India. I resumed my student life in the year 2012 as a Doctoral Researcher studying film studies at the University of Hamburg. I also teach South Asian Cinema and my mother tongue Bengali at the Asia Africa Institute. Besides academics, my interests include film making, radio jockeying, creative writing, photography and performing arts Since, I am passionate about photography, I have participated in two photography projects with PIASTA. In the year 2012, I participated as a photographer in The World in Place. In 2013,I was very closely involved with the creative process of the project Walls are so 80s!In the new semester, I would be involved as a trainer for some very interesting events.
