For you
This semester I am offering the following seminars in Seminars & Workshops: "Effectively Communicating Across Cultures - Leading Discussions"
Hello, I’m Anne. I work as a clinical psychologist at the Universitätsklinikum Eppendorf (UKE) with displaced children and youths and as a consultant for the international organisation GIST-T. I’m also training to become an (intercultural) mediator. What I find most fascinating is the interaction between specialist areas such as psychology and intercultural work as well as the meaning of the body, soul, and their interplay within the perspectives of different cultures.
I’ve spent time living in South Africa, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Sri Lanka as well as working in multi-cultural teams from Germany, Palestine, Turkey, the Middle East and Northern Africa. Through these experiences, I have discovered that an awareness of one’s own culture leads to cultural openness. For this to happen, one needs to have certain “tools” such as continual critical reflection, a bit of curiosity and empathy. In seminars, I attempt to electrify participants and to serve as an inspiration, in order for them to discover and develop their own enriching process.
