DESCRIPTION:The Sternstunden Festival: a musical-scientific liaison under Hamburg's starry summer sky. Classical choral and ensemble music, open-air brass and big bands, scientific lectures and guided tours, sound installations: for one and a half days, the historic astronomy park of the Hamburg Observatory in Bergedorf will be home to a special combination of culture and astrophysics, offering visitors a unique mix of concerts, discoveries and a festival atmosphere. The buildings and outdoor area are used in a variety of ways to present musical and academic events.\n
A variety of music by members of the chamber choir and orchestra can be heard in the characterful rooms of the observatory, which can be explored on your own or on qualified guided tours. The open-air program invites you to dance in the evening, under the open sky with a view of the stars, which can be explored even more closely through the observatory's telescopes. Concerts and specialist lectures inside, exploratory learning, beats and bands outside, plus a colorful children's program, food trucks and chilled drinks. From library to refractor, from chamber music to sound installation, from young to old, from hammock zone to disco - two balmy summer nights and a whole starry sky full of surprises, an invitation to everyone to be fascinated by space and enchanted by music. The Sternstunden Festival is an initiative of the University of Hamburg's Unimusik in cooperation with the Hamburg Observatory in Bergedorf, which is part of the University of Hamburg's Department of Physics.\n
