Hamburg Three Minute Thesis Competition 2025

Can you imagine presenting your doctoral thesis in 180 seconds? This is precisely what the Three Minute Thesis competition challenges doctoral researchers from all disciplines to do. As they test their research communication skills on stage, the audience gains interesting and entertaining insights into current research. From artificial intelligence to paleobiology, to marketing and bridge construction!

The Hamburg Research Academy warmly invites you to join us for the upcoming event on 9 September. This internationally renowned competition will be hosted in Hamburg for the fifth time. Developed at the University of Queensland, Australia, the first 3MT took place in 2008 and is today held at over 600 universities.

This year, nine doctoral researchers from four of Hamburg's universities will present their research. The event is bilingual - some presentations will be in German, the majority of presentations and the moderation will be in English.
