DESCRIPTION: “I start from the premise that ‘critical’ cartographies have always been an intersectional feminist project in which cartography is conceived and practiced at the intersection of feminist, postcolonial, and Marxist critiques of science, perspectives, and representation; at the intersection of the structural and ideological relationships between technology, media, and political economy; and at the intersection of Western cartography with projects of exploitation, dispossession, and genocide.\n
The creative innovation and rebellious politics of feminist cartographies have dramatically transformed the possibilities of cartographic practice in academic and activist circles. Yet, as I will argue here, even more is possible, necessary, and already underway!\n

This paper traces cartographic concepts rooted in Black, Indigenous, and decolonial feminist thought and demonstrates how these concepts center epistemological-political relationships that transcend the boundaries\n
of many earlier forms of critical cartography and lead to fundamentally different forms of critique, creativity, and ethical relationships in cartographic practice.\n
